2011 in review: Mobile, mobile, mobile

As 2011 draws to an end I thought I'd do a recap on one of the major themes in Confirmit this year, reflected on the Confirmit blog as well: Surveys on mobiles. Internet usage from mobile devices has reached critical mass now, and therefore we strongly believe that for any successful survey or feedback program, mobile is an important channel that needs to be taken into consideration.

Consequently, we made two serious investments in this area in 2011:

1. The acquisition of Techneos, which gave us the ability to run surveys via mobile apps across all major platforms. Pat Molloy wrote about this in his blog post "Mobile: Now is the time"

2. The release of Confirmit Horizons Version 16 Feature Pack, with native support for online surveys on any mobile interface. This was covered in my blog post "We are up to something on mobile this year".

Here is an overview of other posts I've done this year, providing more thoughts around mobile as a survey channel:

1. Why I think surveys are better on mobile phones than on PC – a contemplation in three parts:
a. Part 1
b. Part 2
c. Part 3

2. Why you cannot ignore mobile as a survey channel

3. Should surveys on mobile be done as web surveys in the browser of the device, or in a native mobile app?

4. The Challenge with the Mobile Device Explosion: Engagement, Consistency or Reach?
